How It Began

A Problem We Saw
Every Single Day

Growing up in Nairobi, the Cambier founders witnessed something deeply troubling: used cooking oil poured down drains, children without access to basic hygiene products, and a youth generation told they were too young to make a difference.

They refused to accept that. In 2024, three young Kenyans — Elijah, Alex, and Felix — decided to turn a daily problem into a lasting solution. Cambier was born.

The Problem Is Identified

Thousands of litres of used cooking oil are dumped into Nairobi's waterways monthly, while children in underserved communities lack access to basic hygiene products.

Cambier Is Founded

Three youth founders unite around a simple but powerful idea: collect the waste that's polluting the environment and transform it into products that improve lives.

1,000 Litres Repurposed

A major milestone — 1,000+ litres of used cooking oil collected, transformed, and turned into eco-friendly hygiene products distributed across Nairobi communities.

Growing the Movement

Expanding programs, empowering more youth, and advancing women's leadership in green innovation — building toward a cleaner, healthier Kenya for generations to come.

The Numbers
Behind the Mission

Every litre of oil we collect is a litre that won't end up in a drain, river, or soil. Every product we make is one more family with access to hygiene. Here's what we've achieved so far.

What We Do

Three Pillars,
One Vision

Cambier's work is built on three interconnected pillars — each reinforcing the others to create a flywheel of environmental impact, community health, and youth-powered change.

01
🧪

Product Development

We collect used cooking oil and other waste materials and transform them — through our own developed processes — into sustainable, affordable hygiene products. Every bar of soap is proof that what the world throws away can be made into something valuable.

02
🏘️

Community Engagement

We go beyond products. Through awareness campaigns, school programs, and community outreach, we educate children and families on hygiene best practices and environmental stewardship — because lasting change begins with mindset.

03
📢

Environmental Advocacy

We use our platform to amplify youth voices on environmental issues in Kenya, pushing for systemic change at community and policy levels. We don't just clean up — we campaign for the conditions that prevent the mess in the first place.

About Cambier

We Believe Young
People Can Transform Kenya

Cambier is a Nairobi-based, youth-led organization founded on a simple conviction: that young people — given the tools, trust, and opportunity — can solve the environmental and hygiene challenges their communities face every day.

We tackle the twin crises of environmental pollution and poor hygiene access head-on. We see them as connected — both rooted in a lack of affordable, sustainable solutions. So we build those solutions ourselves: from the ground up, with our own hands, using materials the world has discarded.

At the heart of Cambier is a fierce commitment to inclusion. Women are not just participants in our work — they are leaders, innovators, and decision-makers. We believe the green economy will only be truly transformative if it is built by, and for, everyone.

Our Mission

To promote environmental conservation and good hygiene practices by developing sustainable, affordable products, while empowering youth and advancing women's inclusion to create healthier, cleaner, and more resilient communities.
